ABOUT PURE HEART POTTERY
Pure Heart Pottery is more than just a pottery shop, it is a place where every piece is crafted through encounters with the Lord and intentionality. Each piece is handmade, stamped, carved, and glazed by hand. At Pure Heart Co., we strive to create pieces that not only serve a functional purpose but also encourage others to encounter the Lord. Our passion for pottery is rooted in our faith, and we believe that every piece we create comes with an invitation to encounter the Lord. HOW IT STARTED...
Back in November of 2022, I took my art students on a field trip to a pottery studio in Fort Worth. It was that day, November 29, 2022, that I had an encounter with the Lord! While I was throwing my first ever bowl on the wheel my hand slipped and my thumb went through the side of the bowl, ruining the piece. In that moment I heard the Lord whisper to my heart, “This is how I see you!” And my immediate response was, “Wow Lord, I’m a jacked up bowl?”. Little did I know this would be the beginning of something beautiful! Later that evening when I got home from the trip I continued my reading in Jeremiah where I came across chapter 18, titled “The Potter and the Clay”. The Lord began ministering to my heart as I read the chapter and began encouraging me with what He was planning to do in my life. This chapter speaks about how the people of Israel had turned away from God, but God didn’t turn away from them! Instead He speaks about how He is the Potter and will reshape Israel, the clay, into something better as it seemed good to the potter to do.
Part of my testimony is that I got married young in the year of 2019 and by the end of 2022 our marriage was falling apart and breaking. When my marriage began to fall apart so did my identity. I had no idea how wrapped up I had become in placing my worth in the title of being a wife. Marriage had become my innocent idol, but through the breaking it led me back to the Lord. The Lord invited me into this pottery journey that November day in 2022 as a prophetic act of how He would be reshaping, what I thought to be my marriage, but truly ended up being myself!
In March of 2023 the Lord gave me the business name “Pure Heart Co.” based off of the verse Matthew 5:8 that says, “The pure in heart will see God.” My heart posture before the Lord became, “Lord I want to know you more! I want to be like you! And I want to see you Jesus!”. What started out as me just messing around with clay turned into encounters with the Lord. As I threw on the wheel and shaped the clay with my hands the Lord began to soften and work on my heart. Every design comes from an encounter I have had with the Lord and I love how I get the opportunity to give away my encounters with Him to all of you! I believe that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever! And if He can do it for me, I know He can do it for you!
So, whether you have never had a relationship with Jesus before, have walked away from the faith and are coming back, or are still passionately pursuing Him, these pieces are for you! To encourage and remind you to spend time with the Lord daily and invite Him into every part of your life!
